BELIEFS

Our core beliefs as Seventh-day Adventists, are rooted in the Bible and centred on the teachings of Jesus Christ. Our faith guides how we live, worship, and support our local communities.

Introduction

Seventh-day Adventists use the Bible as their main guide and base their core beliefs on its teachings. These beliefs outline how the church understands and practices what the Bible says. They paint a picture of a God who designed and created the world and is committed to building a lasting connection with people, driven by wisdom, kindness, and endless love. These beliefs are known as the Seventh-day Adventist: Twenty-eight (28) Fundamentals Beliefs

The 28 Fundamental Beliefs can be organised into six categories of doctrine: God, Humanity, Salvation, The Church, Daily Christian Living and Restoration (End Times).

The name "Seventh-day Adventist" highlights two key beliefs of the church. "Seventh-day" refers to the biblical Sabbath, which Adventists observe on Saturday as a day of rest and worship, following the example set in the Bible. "Adventist" points to their belief in the second coming of Jesus, which is a central hope and teaching of the church. Together, the name reflects their commitment to following the Bible's teachings on the Sabbath and anticipating Jesus' return.

Revision of these statements may be expected at a quinquennial General Conference Session whenever the church is led by the Holy Spirit to a fuller understanding of Bible truth, or if better language is found to express these teachings of God’s Holy Word.
